Time for children's second dose of H1N1 vaccine

In order to receive the full benefits of the H1N1 vaccine, and for the vaccine to function as intended, children 9 years of age and younger need to receive TWO doses of the H1N1 vaccine. The first and second dose should be separated by at least 21 days, but 28 days is preferred to ensure maximum benefit. The majority of students received their first dose of H1N1 vaccine in the schools around the week of November 12th and received their second dose last week.  However, there are a number of children who have not received this second dose. Children 6-35 months old who were vaccinated at Health Access Network will be due for their second dose during the week of December 28th. If your child is 9 years old or younger and has not received their second dose of H1N1 vaccine, please call your primary care provider or you can walk in during business hours at any of our Health Access Network sites.
