Making a Difference
This Holiday Season
Health Access Network (HAN) employees are truly making a difference in
the communities they serve during this holiday season by giving their
gift of time and money.
Despite the bitter cold Friday night, December 5, HAN employees
volunteered their time and handed out free hot cocoa and cookies
(compliments of HAN) to Lincoln area residents
during Lincoln’s Community Tree Lighting Ceremony and Christmas Parade.
They gave away 300 cookies and nearly 500 cups of cocoa.
On Saturday afternoon, December 6, HAN hosted a free Face
Painting Booth at the Millinocket Area Children's Christmas Party.
In addition to face painting, HAN gave away crayons and coloring
books. It's estimated that
HAN staff painted approximately 200 to 250 little faces.
Then, on Saturday evening, December 6, at the HAN Holiday Party,
employees, board members, and guests filled the tree with over 100 toys
and gifts for needy children in the Katahdin Region.
HAN employees also donated over 900 food and essential items to
the Katahdin Area food cupboards to help families who have been affected
by the Katahdin Mill layoffs.
